The company has successfully demonstrated and produced a variety of valuable by-products as part of its citrus biomass production process. Specifically;

Natural Citrus Products produces a “food grade” sugar product and “ingredient grade” sugar product which have alternative applications in the food and beverage industry.

Natural Citrus Products extracts valuable citrus oil products from the biomass material, including;

• d-limonene – a terpene based “ecology-friendly” solvent and commercial additive
• cold press oil – extracted citrus oil that has not gone through a distillation process. In addition to grapefruit and orange oil extractions, the company intends to process lemon and lime products for production application.

Natural Citrus Products produces pectin pomace by-products which include;

• Food grade products such as citrus flour, meat and poultry additives (fillers)
• Pet products such as pet food filler, kitty litter and pet bedding
• Industrial products such as oil spill absorbent and industrial cleaning agents.

Laboratory findings conducted by The National Food Laboratory have shown Natural Citrus Products’s pectin pomace material to be high in fiber (over 82%), gluten free, low in sugar with Vitamin A (Beta Carotene) and Vitamin C.  Additionally, ORAC findings from Convance Laboratories, Inc. has shown Natural Citrus Products’s pectin pomace to contain higher antioxidant ratings that most all naturally produced fruits and vegetables.

A scientific study of has identified Natural Citrus Products’ pectin pomace dry mass material as an effective tool to counteract pollution of surface waters by toxic heavy metals such as lead (Pb) from industrial sources and storm water runoff. The study suggests that biosorption of Pb2+ ions by Natural Citrus Products’s processed orange peels can be an inexpensive and effective method of metal ion treatment.
